Authentikk project

Authentikk project promotes the connection of the two (2) communities Korca and Kastoria through the beautiful nature and the imposing Mountain volumes of Morava from Albania border area and the Mountain volume of Grammos when it comes to Greece. Both project areas could support the idea of 12 month tourism giving different perspectives and alternatives for each season.

The beautiful lake, the Macedonian mansions, the Byzantine churches, the local gastronomy and of course the hospitable people make up the image of an ideal destination -at an altitude of about 700 m- at the northwestern end of the country.

We started out enjoying the beautiful views, the natural environment and the tranquility of the landscape. First by following the lakeside road, around the peninsula that the locals call “gyrolimnia”, and then with a “cruise” on the waters of the lake – with the small boat “Olympia” – next to small and big birds and fishermen spreading their nets on their “Kastorian boats”.

After stepping “ashore” again, we searched for the famous Dolcho. The stately neighborhood of Kastoria, dominating the south side of the city. Walking along its winding cobbled streets, between the old Macedonian mansions – with their wooden loggias and colourful stained glass windows – and the small churches, you have the feeling of travelling back in time.
