Authentikk project proposes a big tour between the 2 project areas including the National Park “Bredhi i Drenovës” in Albania, the Church of Ristozi (Kisha e Ristozit) in Mborje,paragliding from Morava mountain down to the borders and reaching Kastoria with a suttle bus. Then exploring the beautiful landscape of Kastoria surroundings and the lake encompasses the town, visiting the protected settlements of old town of Kastoria, named “Doltso” with the impressive mansions of the unique byzantine architecture, the walking tour of about 70 byzantine churches of Kastoria building between the 9 th to 15 th century. The inner walls are decorated with Byzantine frescoes, their history and the magnificent paintings are still preserved and with free access to everyone. From that point the beautiful stone paths surrounding the old town, hiking following the path across the lake the visitor reaches to the Dragon Cave with the astonishing inner lakes, the million years old stalagmites and stalactites that only the mother nature could sculpt, is also reachable with a boat ride to ‘Limneos Ikismos’, the prehistoric settlement at ‘Dispilio’ at the other side of the lake.
A Comprehensive Promotion and Communications Plan will be created to join both areas into a ‘single destination’ and promote it as such. Cooperation with Tourist Guides from both countries to include and promote the new cross-border AuthentiKK tourist package will be encouraged.

The Byzantine churches of Kastoria are one of the most significant sightseeing that you should not lose! Explore the dozens of old churches exist in Kastoria, admire the wall frescoes that go along the history of the town through the centuries. Many of the paintings and artworks are exposed to the #Byzantine museum of Kastoria, a modern museum full of masterpiece icons, step windows, small craft objects and wall paintings that demonstrate the high level of art in Kastoria and its surroundings.

From the end of October 2021, first itinerary of the ship “OLYMPIA” came true, which sailed again in the lake of Kastoria! From now on the visitors will have the chance to explore the beautiful landscape and to enjoy the visiting to ‘Dispilio prehistoric settlement’ with the use of the boat! Enjoy sailing!
